First let me say that I Specialize in Train and Transformer Service, Overhauls and Repairs and have been doing them since 1970. I operate a Full Time Home based Hobby Repair Shop Dedicated to the Toy Train Operator and Collector. I have been in business since 1984 and have been selling quality items on Ebay for 11 years. I have worked for two hobby shops and maintain trains at a local museum. I also have a Background in Electrical Components and Repairs. All my Transformers come from Reliable sources and I Do Not Buy cheap items and Resell them to make a Profit. All my Transformers get checked out prior to my purchasing them for proper operation and being tamper proof. There is No HYPE here or my life long history. I am here to provide a Quality item as seen in the pictures. I am a professional and pride myself on my work. When you buy a transformer from me you just have to hook it up to your track and plug it in. I Service and Sell over 170 Transformers a year. There are many cheap or attic find transformers on ebay and thats what you get for your money. These items are over 50 + years old and internal components wear and corrode. Buying a Transformer that has not been Serviced and Overhauled and have a New Circuit Breaker and Carbon Rollers Installed can definately cause problems with the new Electronic Circuitry in the Lionel, MTH and other trains. The replacement Reverse and Sound Boards for these Engines cost in the 150.00 to 200.00 price range to replace. So why go thru that?? A good looking transformer on the outside does not guarantee that it will operate properly so buy accordingly. A Transformer that has been in a hot and cold attic or damp basement can be nothing but problems. I Repair many of these, that people have purchased that have problems when they arrive. Comes from the Original owner who has had this stored in his closet for over 30 years. Looks Like New and showed very little usage. But to bring it up to todays standards it was totally overhauled. Some Sellers only replace parts they feel need to be replaced. I Replace All Major Components No Questions Asked LIONEL 275 WATT ZW TRANSFORMER Original Box with All Inserts, Photo Copy of Operating Instructions and 2 Original Wires, Lockon and factory Inspection Tag. The Box has been taped on the side where the original taping has come loose and there is some tape on the top. I have Replaced all 4 Carbon Rollers and Rivets. The Power Cord has been Replaced with a New Cord and soldered to the Main coil connectors as the original was installed. I have Replaced Both Whistle Rectifier Disks with Stud Diodes which are more reliable and work well with the old and new trains. I have Replaced the Circuit Breaker. No questions asked. Item comes from an elder collector friend who used this maybe 3 times for the holiday and has been packed away for over 20 years. Item is in Overall Like New Mechanical and Electrical Condition. All Binding Posts are tight. There are No Broken parts on Case. The ZW has Whistle/Start/Stop Controls for TwoTrains and the other two controls can operate Trains, Accessories or Lighting. There are many pictures so give them time to load as you will see how clean this item is inside and out. It has been Bench and Layout Tested using a Dual Motor F3 and also a 2046W Whistle Tender and Operated Fine. The Variable Output Voltage is at 20.50 Volts and 25.51 Volts with the Whistle Control Activated. Plenty of Power to Run your trains and accessories. It is Quiet and has no Hum. On Some Modern Lionel and MTH Items a Special Control button ( 6-5906) may be Required and is available thru lionel and some parts dealers. I have Checked and Cleaned all Electrical Contacts and the Coil and soldered if needed, I Checked the Coil for shorts or dead spots which there are None. I Cleaned the Interior and Exterior Case and Lubricated where needed. This transformer comes ready to operate your trains when it arrives. All Transformers are double boxed and wrapped in bubble wrap and peanuts to protect the item in shipping. There is a 6 month Warranty on Replaced Parts and Labor. Bid with confidence.
