Serial Number: 711 Each car now comes with an engraved plate listing serial number. The numbers run consecutively in order of creation and a photo with corresponding serial number will appear on a website I am currently working on. Those that have already purchased cars will be receiving their plates via US mail.

This is a new car that has been removed from its packaging, weathered, KD 805 Couplers installed, and trucks replaced with Atlas 2r 33" Bettendorf trucks. The car was created with a combination of artists colors, Floquil paints, weathering powders, dry brushing, and air brushing . The rust was created with a combination of artists colors layered to achieve a realistic pitted and "running" effect. The trucks and wheels are also weathered with 3 separate colors to achieve maximum realism.

I build and weather every model to the same standard as the cars & structures on my own layout. As always, no reserve. 100% satisfaction or a full refund less shipping. Winning bidder must pay in full within 7 days of auction close with Paypal. Actual shipping cost only- no handling fees. Item ships from 04074 and weighs 3lbs. Feel free to email me directly with questions dsmith041@maine.rr.com. Check my auctions daily as I will be offering custom weathered structures, Atlas Engines & cars.

It has been great to talk many of you who have called and emailed over the past year. Here is a summary of some of the frequently asked questions. I will post more Q&A as the questions come up:

1. How long does it take to create a car? A. There are 12 steps to creating a completed car and it takes an average of 6 hrs from start to finish. If I paint and letter the car, you can add a couple more hrs to that. If I can get into my shop early enough I can complete 2 cars a day.

2. Where did you learn how to weather the cars? A. Check out modeltrainsweathered.com . This is a great site and I learned most of what I do there. The biggest thing to get you going is to pick up some of the artists colors listed on the site and experiement. Dilute them with water and watch all of the different shades of rust come out. I also highly recommend Bragdon Weathering Powders.

3. Why do you only sell Atlas & Lionel cars? A. Other than a couple of brass pieces, I only run Atlas & Lionel scale cars on my 2R layout. I feel these cars are the most realistic and I am most comfortable working on them.

4. Where do you get prototype pics to create the models? A. Check out George Elwood's Fallen Flags site. Google the name for the address. Also Google railcarphotos.com, and railroadpicturearchives.net. I also have a stack of Morning Sun Books "Color Guide to Freight & Passenger Equipment" series for many railroads.

5. Why don't you weather the couplers? A. I have found that the paint tends to inhibit coupler function. Kadee makes a dark brown coupler I will substitute if winning bidder desires.

6. How do you handle international shipping? A. I ship Priority Mail International and it typically runs $35 for one car and approx $40 for 2. I try to save you money were ever possible and always keep this in mind when filling out customs forms ;)

7. Will you convert this car to 3R for me prior to shipment? A. Yes, I have boxes and boxes of 3R Atlas roller bearing trucks and will do this for you at no additional charge. I model 2R and have no use for them.

8. I received a second chance offer for one of your auctions I did not win. Is this you? A. No! Each car is unique and one of a kind. There will never be any second chance offers. This is someone's attempt to comit fraud.
