Frequent visitors to our Toy Boat Shop know we enjoy finding and sharing other vintage toys and this selection of "O" Scale Lionel & MTH Trains with rolling stock and accessories from a private Collection is no exception.

These trains include some rare Vintage cars and Classic Steam and Diesel engines and are now being offered in our eBay auctions.

B&O SENTINEL 6464-325 Box Car with its original Lionel carton.

The SENTINEL is all original with non faded colors and

The metal trucks have no rust.spin freely without binding.

Both couplers open and lock securely.one coupler may need its internal spring replaced

as it doesn't "pop" open when the lever is depressed.

With close inspection, some occasional surface scratches can be seen on the sides and one of

the door blocks, but this Sentinel displays very well as these photos show.

Some waxing might remove any surface dirt and bring out its best shine and perhaps the

wheel axles should be lubed, as I haven't done any maintenance prep on this car.

The door's steel tracks have some surface rust that might be buffed out with WD-40, however both doors slide freely, also with no binding.

There are no cracks, chips or missing pieces, either to the box car or its running gear.

gotten bunged over time as shown here, but doesn't distract from the overall appearance.

A view from the, "Pit" shows a very clean undercarriage that carries over into the car itself.

On the bottom is the Lionel mark stamping that includes four lines of text that read:

"Made in the U.S. of America The Lionel Corporation New York"

The nice nicely preserved trucks and wheel sets show no corrosion or pitting.

This great B&O Box Car has always been stored in its original carton.

There is a rip on one side that had been nicely repaired by glue at some point.

Each end has all four flaps that are in place and fully attached with no torn tabs.

Research indicates this car was only manufactured in 1956.

was not included with any train sets and available only as a separately sold car.

As such, the Sentinel was not a big seller and now 50+ years later, has become one of the rarest Post War 6464 Box Cars.
